A Cobra With
Real Fangs!

Paul Wolford had an already impressive ’03 Cobra with
a 2.2 Kenne
Now it was time to install the big Whipple. Just check
out the difference in physical size!

In the car it was even more impressive!

The Original Kenne Bell 2.2

The Whipple 3.4
The Whipple installed very cleanly with only a few
adjustments needed. The one consideration to watch for is hood clearance. We
wanted to keep boost levels down to a manageable number to run on pump gas so
we went with the 3.5 inch pulley. Clearance issues required cutting away a portion
of the hood stiffening frame to clear. On the bottom end, we started with Metco’s new 6.5 inch crank pulley. Original calculations
indicated it would equate to the original 20 psi;
however, the 3 inch exhaust kept us at the lower 16 psi.
So we stepped it up a bit with a 7.5 inch crank pulley and the evidence below
speaks for itself – 605 HP to the wheel (approx. 710 at the flywheel) and 593
lb-ft of torque – on pump gas!! Throw in some 110 octane race gas and the
results jumped to 650 RWHP and 612 RWTQ! That will definitely shred some tires!

Come see us to get one for your Super Snake!
Paul wanted to up the ante one more time and make sure
that his Snake was breathing freely with the new Whipple muscle on top. We added
the new JLT True Cold Air Intake. With a 4 inch pipe and a huge 12 inch air
filter out in the fender, it definitely does the job.

Adds a nice touch to engine compartment and another 12
ponies to the tires!
