We installed this white Whipple 2.3L supercharger in
this impressive 2005 GT convertible. This is the same kit as Ford Racing’s HO
kit but limited to 7 psi boost as this car was an
automatic tranny. For those of you considering power
adders in your S197 automatic car, be aware that the Ford tranny
in these cars is not built to withstand much more than 400 RWHP. Some have
tried to go higher but reports of tranny failure are
common. Ford is working on the problem but – 400 RWHP in your Saturday night
cruiser is nothing to scoff at. This baby can get rubber in first and
second. Congrats to Stephen Govan on his pumped up
ride.
