Steve Burrough’s Sweet ’89 GT

After owning it for only a few days, Steve Burroughs brought their nice ’89 GT 347 Stroker to our shop from Southern Maryland with a blown head gasket. While it seemed like a simple fix, a little investigation uncovered the root cause, flat top pistons in a stroker pumping 10.5:1 compression fed by a Vortech blower. Not a combination that will live very long on pump gas. A new set of low compression pistons and a complete rebuild later and she’s running strong again. Steve is back cruisin’ the roads of St Mary’s County with big grin on his face!
